October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month
This October, we are proud to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month. 2020 is a particularly remarkable year for this initiative because we are commemorating the 75th anniversary of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) and the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Both of these milestones highlight the cumulative achievements that we as a nation have all made together to increase access and opportunities for those with disabilities.
Supported workers at SARAH Inc. are employed in retail, service, and manufacturing jobs throughout our communities. SARAH Inc.’s Employment services consists of multiple programs. Each program takes a customized approach to provide the supported workers with the best services to meet their individualized needs. We guide each person through every step of the employment process: from resumes to interviews, internships, and on-site job coaching.
At SARAH Inc., the continued development and success of those involved in our employment services inspires all members of the community. Their accomplishments are supported by dedicated staff, families, employers, and effective legislation. Through this teamwork, infinite possibilities can be made available for those with differing abilities. During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we celebrate these achievements and remain focused on increasing perception and understanding of these opportunities.
