Clinton Country Club Professional Golf Staff Conducts Sixth Annual Special Olympics Golf Team Skill Clinic

The Clinton Country Club Head Golf Professional Sean Busca and his professional staff conducted a golf skills clinic for the Special Olympics Central Shoreline golf team at the Clinton Country Club on Monday, August 29th.   The Clinton Country Club golf staff has been conducting these clinics for the past six years with the enthusiastic support of the Clinton Country Club Board of Directors and its Golf Committee.

Ten Central Shoreline Special Olympian golfers participated in the skills clinic with help from their coach, Jackie Beck and Erin O’Reilly, the Central Shoreline Local Coordinator.  Sean Busca and Club members Brian McGlone, Bob Rawden, Jim Lamb and Keven Saunders volunteered their time and Clinton CC donated the use of the golf course and practice facility. “The professional golf staff and club members did a fantastic job and provided the same professional quality instruction that would be provided to any golfer,” said Ms. Beck and Ms. O’Reilly. “This was an exciting and unique experience for all of us involved.”

The new, fully-accredited Special Olympics Central Shoreline Program is the result of a merger of two former Special Olympics programs – Special Olympics SARAH and Special Olympics Shoreline Recreation.  SARAH Inc. has since been an advocate for Special Olympics Connecticut and its mission for many years. Grants from the PGA, CT Section has also helped support the Special Olympics golf team for the last few years. .
