Advocacy is Putting Our Mission in Action

Created and driven by families, SARAH Inc. has been at the forefront of important legislative issues and the voice for those who struggle to be heard. Our Leadership Team aims to continually advocate on behalf of those in our programs, but strive to help each individual in our programs find their voice and to give them a platform to be heard. During the Connecticut legislative sessions SARAH Inc. actively works with the Connecticut Nonprofit Alliance and other agencies to help advocate for ourselves and those in our programs. Our team will write emails, make phones calls, write testimony on bills, and visit Legislators to help spread our mission.

In addition to our own advocacy efforts, SARAH Inc. promotes and supports a variety of organizations devoted to promoting, protecting, and improving supports and services for all people with differing abilities. All of our advocacy efforts can be reflected in our mission: Enhancing Skills and Enriching Lives of all Individuals with Differing Abilities. Systematic changes do not happen in a single day but it does start with a single action. The purpose of these advocacy efforts is “to promote systems change in CT to support the long term sustainability of non-profit human service agencies like SARAH Inc. and to ensure resources are available now and over the long-term for families caring for their loved ones at home.
